Brecksville Celebrates Spectacular Solar Eclipse Event at Blossom Hill

Brecksville residents and visitors from around the Country gathered at Blossom Hill on Monday, April 8, for a once-in-a-lifetime celestial event—the 2024 Solar Eclipse. With over 500 attendees, it was an afternoon filled with family fun, games, and activities, culminating in viewing the total solar eclipse. With the moon shadow starting at 1:59 and the total eclipse happening at 3:13, the crowd cheered the event.

Among the distinguished guests in attendance were Mayor Daryl Kingston and several city council members, who joined the community in marveling at the celestial spectacle. The atmosphere was one of excitement and wonder as attendees gathered to experience this rare astronomical event together.

One visitor from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan called the event “a great gathering of families.”, also calling the festive atmosphere exciting. 

In addition to the eclipse viewing, attendees were treated to various family-friendly activities and games throughout the afternoon. Local food vendors, including Master Pizza, Corradis Cones, King Tut Egyptian Street Food, Kona Ice, and the Cleveland Cookie Dough Company, offered delicious treats for purchase, adding to the event’s festive atmosphere.

Parking was available at the BBH Elementary School, where all Brecksville-Broadview Heights Schools were closed for the eclipse.
