Schools Foundation Fundraiser Sets New Record for Classroom Grants

The Brecksville-Broadview Heights Schools Foundation’s annual “A Toast to Our Future” fundraiser, held at Michael Angelo’s Winery, raised more than $30,000 in March—a post-pandemic record for the organization. Over 100 community members attended, and the event featured a silent auction with items such as orthodontic packages, a ride in a fire truck, and naming rights for school campus streets.

All proceeds support the Foundation’s classroom grant enrichment program, which funds innovative projects for teachers and scholarships for graduating seniors. Recent grants have enabled projects like a 20-foot waterfall for environmental science and upgrades to classroom technology.

Speakers at the event included previous grant recipients and Foundation President Brittany Wigman, who highlighted the impact of community support on student opportunities. Attendees enjoyed music from a student string quartet and participated in lively bidding during the auction.

The Foundation’s impact extends beyond the classroom, with 66 scholarships awarded to seniors in 2024. The organization plans to expand its fundraising efforts and continue supporting creative classroom projects and student success in the coming year.
