January 4, 2025 – OVI Incident at Public Square
A single-vehicle accident was reported near Brecksville United Methodist Church. Officers located the vehicle, which had apparently struck a salt truck. The driver admitted to driving after drinking at a bar. After failing field sobriety tests, the suspect was arrested with a BAC of .18. The driver was charged with OVI and related offenses.
January 5, 2025 – High-Speed Chase on I-77
Officers observed a vehicle traveling 98 mph in a 60 mph zone. After a pursuit, the vehicle eventually stopped. The driver initially refused to comply with officers’ commands and was taken into custody. During processing, suspected illegal substances were discovered. The suspect was charged with multiple violations including fleeing/eluding.
January 10, 2025 – Property Damage on Edgerton Road
Officers responded to a report of a damaged stop sign at the intersection of Edgerton and Barr Road. Investigation revealed tire tracks in the snow indicating a semi-trailer may have struck the sign while turning. The Service Department was notified to replace the sign and install a temporary one.
January 13, 2025 – OVI on Brecksville Road
Following a disturbance call involving two vehicles, officers conducted a traffic stop. One driver displayed signs of impairment and failed field sobriety tests. The vehicle was impounded and the driver was arrested for OVI.
January 18, 2025 – Expired Registration/Warrant Arrest
An officer observed a vehicle with expired registration. During the stop, the driver was found to have multiple open license suspensions and an active warrant. The vehicle was towed and the driver was transferred to another jurisdiction on the warrant.
January 18, 2025 – Vehicle Accident in Snow
Officers responded to a disabled vehicle blocking traffic. Investigation revealed the driver lost control while turning, striking a curb in snowy conditions. The collision caused vehicle damage and an oil leak, requiring fire department response for cleanup. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
January 24, 2025 – Traffic Stop/Warrant Arrest
During a traffic stop, officers discovered the driver had provided false identification. After further investigation, the driver was found to have an active felony warrant. The suspect was taken into custody and transferred to another jurisdiction.
January 26, 2025 – Speed/Suspended License
An officer conducting radar enforcement observed a vehicle traveling 79 mph in a 60 mph zone. The driver was found to be operating with a suspended license. The vehicle was impounded and appropriate citations were issued.
