Highland Drive Storm Sewer and Sidewalk Upgrades Set for Summer

This summer, a section of Highland Drive will close for major infrastructure improvements, including storm sewer upgrades and sidewalk replacement. The project, awarded to Fabrizi Trucking & Paving Co., Inc., is valued at approximately $205,000 and targets the area between 10207 and 10270 Highland Drive.

City Engineer Gerry Wise explained that the improvements are necessary to address persistent drainage problems and enhance pedestrian safety. The project will include the installation of new storm sewers, upgraded sidewalks, and landscaping enhancements. The work is scheduled for the summer months to minimize disruption to school transportation and local traffic.

Residents will retain access to their homes, and emergency services have coordinated alternate routes to ensure uninterrupted coverage. The city has communicated with local businesses and schools to prepare for the closure and has posted detour information on its website.

The project is part of a broader effort to maintain and upgrade Brecksville’s infrastructure. City officials have encouraged residents to stay informed through CivicReady alerts and city communications. The improvements are expected to reduce future maintenance needs and improve the overall appearance and safety of the area.
