March 23, 2024 – Suspicious Vehicle Leads to Arrest on Outstanding Warrant
On March 23, 2024, at approximately 9:10 AM, police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at Revel Dance Complex on Brecksville Rd. The occupants were found sleeping with their faces covered. A records check revealed that the driver had an outstanding warrant with Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, which was confirmed. The driver was taken into custody and transferred to Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, while the passengers were transported to Pilot Travel Center. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
March 25, 2024 – Semi-Truck Pulls Down Wires, Damaging Utility Pole
On March 25, 2024, at approximately 11:52 AM, officers responded to Highland Drive (Former Highland Elementary School) for a report of a truck pulling down wires. Investigation revealed that a semi-truck and trailer, owned by Midwest Land Clearing Inc., had struck low-hanging lines while backing up, causing damage to a utility pole. CEI arrived on scene to de-energize the wires and assist in removing them from the trailer. No injuries were reported.
March 30, 2024 – Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest on Outstanding Warrant and Traffic Violations
On March 30, 2024, at approximately 12:42 AM, police conducted a traffic stop on an orange Nissan Versa on IR77 near the Oakes Road turnaround for an unilluminated rear license plate. The driver, identified as the registered owner, was found to have a suspended driver’s license and an active warrant for alleged failure to comply with fines out of Bay Village Police Department. The driver was cited for driving under suspension, expired license plates, and rear illumination. He was taken into custody without incident and transferred to Bay Village Police custody. The vehicle was towed and inventoried.
